Dr. Craig Summers

Craig Summers MD FAAPCraig Summers, MD, FAAP, has been in private practice in pediatrics in Hamden, Connecticut since 1981. He is the managing partner and founder of Children's Medical Group. Dr. Summers is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at both the Yale University School of Medicine and the School of Nursing. He has served as a director of the Yale-New Haven Independent Practice Association Board of Directors since 1996, and subsequently as President from 2002 to 2012 as it reorganized, forming the Yale-New Haven Community Medical Group (YNH-CMG) now the Community Medical Group (CMG) representing most of the practicing physicians in the Greater New Haven area. Dr. Summers completed the Yale Management Program for Physicians offered by the Yale Schools of Management, Medicine and Public Health in 2000.

Dr. Summers received his medical degree from the State University of New York/Syracuse, completed his residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital and also served as Chief Resident at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. A primary focus of his current work is clinically integrating independent practices to promote more cost effective, efficient care, resulting in improved outcomes for patients. He loves to mix family time with sports and exercise and is especially interested in helping and motivating kids to do the same.
