Vaccination Policy

Our mission at Children’s Medical Group has always been to provide quality healthcare to all of our patients and be a partner in the commitment to support public health and safety. Therefore, due to the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases such as Measles and Whooping Cough, we have formalized our office vaccination policy.

We will only provide care for those patients and their families who consent to immunizing their children according to the evidence-based immunization schedule established by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Influenza immunization is required for new entrants to Connecticut public school districts starting at age 5. Influenza (after initial school entry)  and HPV will remain optional, as these are not currently required for school enrollment, although we continue to strongly recommend their administration.
